Job summary

Sodexo is seeking a Chef for a remote Highlands village location in Fort Augustus. You will prepare and deliver high-quality meals, ensure food safety, and engage residents in a warm, home-from-home service.

This role emphasizes resident experience, themed dining, and wellbeing initiatives within a supportive village team. The position requires City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2, a REHIS Food Hygiene certificate, and ~2 years catering experience, with a rotation of 3 weeks on and 3 weeks off.

Qualifications

• City and Guilds 706/1 and 706/2 qualifications required.
• REHIS Food Hygiene certificate mandatory.
• Two years catering experience required.

Responsibilities

• Ensure prompt service of all meals to standards.
• Prepare and cook food to agreed quantities.
• Maintain high food safety and hygiene standards, including temperature control.
• Manage and rotate stock to minimise waste and control costs.
• Investigate and resolve customer complaints and service issues.
• Support kitchen organisation and cleaning rotas.
• Assist with menu planning and recipe development.
• Ensure safe operation and maintenance of catering equipment.
• Comply with Health and Safety legislation and participate in training.
