Job summary

Rullion Ltd invites applications for a Grid Engineer on a contract basis. You will manage grid connection processes across renewable energy projects, from concept to delivery, with remote working options and travel across the UK.

The role requires a degree in Electrical Engineering, experience with grid connections, stakeholder management, and cost/risk oversight; you will liaise with DNOs, contractors, and internal teams to ensure safe, compliant project delivery.

Qualifications

• Degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• Proven experience managing grid connection processes from concept through delivery.
• Specialist electrical engineering experience in renewable energy sector.
• Strong knowledge of transmission and distribution grid connection requirements.
• Experience managing contractors, consultants, project risks, costs and commercial issues.
• Experience reviewing connection offers and resolving technical, contractual and commercial queries.
• Power system modelling experience desirable.
• Strong stakeholder management, communication and problem-solving skills.
• Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office.
• Full, clean UK driving licence and willingness to travel across the UK and overseas.
• Commitment to health, safety, environmental and quality standards.

Responsibilities

• Manage grid connection processes for multiple renewable energy projects from concept to delivery.
• Oversee grid connection liabilities, securities, contractors and consultants.
• Prepare and review technical specifications, scopes of work, design requirements and contract documentation.
• Resolve technical, legal and commercial queries relating to grid connection offers and project delivery.
• Manage project variations involving changes to scope, cost and schedule.
• Identify, assess and mitigate grid and electrical risks throughout the asset lifecycle.
• Ensure compliance with health, safety and internal engineering standards.
• Provide technical support during high-risk situations, including corrective actions and root cause analysis.
• Support technical and commercial due diligence, cost optimisation and continuous improvement of engineering procedures.
• Represent the business in meetings with external stakeholders, including network operators and industry bodies.
• Collaborate with internal engineering teams and senior stakeholders to support project delivery and business growth.
• Provide regular progress reports to the Lead Engineer - Grid and Head of Electrical Connections.
• Travel across the UK and overseas as required.
