Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking an Electrical Highways Operative to join the Highways Street Lighting team on the HMC26 contract in Coleshill, delivering essential street lighting maintenance across the county and supporting adjacent contracts in Coventry and Solihull when required.

You’ll play a key part in ensuring highway lighting assets are safe, reliable and well maintained, working to the highest standards of Health, Safety, Quality and Service Delivery.

Qualifications

• Electrical Qualification (HERS / HEA).
• G39 qualification.
• Lantra T1 & T2 certifications.
• CSCS card holder.
• Abrasive Wheel training.

Responsibilities

• Carrying out routine and cyclical street lighting maintenance.
• Installing and replacing lighting columns, including excavation and ducting works.
• Diagnosing faults with electrical equipment and completing effective repairs.
• Responding to emergency call-outs, including in and out of hours.
• Making sites safe and completing temporary or permanent repairs.
• Supporting winter maintenance operations as required.
• Completing work instructions via handheld devices.
• Organising and controlling materials to support efficient delivery.
• Ensuring all works are completed right first time and to required quality standards.
• Working collaboratively with colleagues, subcontractors and the client.
• Acting as a professional ambassador on site.
