Job summary

Balfour Beatty plc is seeking an Environmental Maintenance Technical (Highways) to work on the M25 network, performing soft estate maintenance and supervising field tasks. You will lead teams, ensure safety and compliance, and contribute to sustainability initiatives across the network.

Roles involve rotating day/night shifts with travel between depots, and a strong focus on making safety personal while delivering reliable network maintenance and vegetation management.

Qualifications

• Full UK driving licence (Cat C) with CPC/Driver Qualification Card up to date.
• SSSTS/SMSTS or equivalent required.
• CSCS Supervisors Card required.
• Level 2 NVQ Highways Maintenance or equivalent.
• ROLO supervisor level and Sector Scheme 18 elements expected.
• PA 1 weed treatment qualification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Soft estates maintenance: grass cutting, vegetation clearance, arboriculture, ditch clearance, weed spraying and related tasks.
• Manage people: annual leave, performance, conduct per policy, manage absence.
• Ensure a focus on safety and company safety standards.
• Provide accurate written/verbal reports and data for records.
• Input data via mobile devices to generate reports and business records.
