Job summary

Balfour Beatty is seeking a Highways Operative for our UKCS Living Places team based in Horncastle, Lincolnshire. You will perform a variety of highway maintenance tasks across drainage, footways, and resurfacing, contributing to quality, safety and community safety.

This hands-on role requires a strong safety focus, ability to work in a team, and flexibility for overtime and out-of-hours work when needed. Full UK driving licence and commitment to health and safety are essential.

Responsibilities

• Carry out a broad range of highway maintenance activities safely and to a high standard.
• Undertake drainage works, kerb laying, footway improvements, vegetation clearance and asphalt repairs.
• Complete excavation and trenching works with appropriate equipment.
• Maintain safe working practices in line with Zero Harm culture and safety standards.
• Report close calls, good practices and safety observations.
