Balfour Beatty plc is seeking a M25 Lighting Supervisor to oversee maintenance across the network. You will lead lighting operatives and subcontractors, ensuring safe, productive delivery and compliance with CPS procedures and highway safety standards.
You will manage permits, coordinate resources, and deliver briefings to clarify methodology, hazards and controls, while maintaining accurate records and driving continuous improvement on the M25 network.
As the M25 Lighting Supervisor for Balfour Beatty, you hold overall responsibility for the successful delivery of all maintenance works across your geographical area, serving as the primary point of contact for shift-based operations. Leading a team of lighting operatives and subcontractors, you ensure efficient supervision, safety, and quality for all lighting network activity. Your core operational duties involve the end-to-end management of routine and non-routine lighting works, which includes pre-scouting lane closure areas, inspecting roadside defects to determine exact rectification requirements, and participating in the development of an achievable Annual Maintenance Plan. You ensure sufficient resources are in place to deliver all works safely and on time, while securing all necessary information and raising and managing essential permits prior to commencement.
To maintain strict safety compliance, you review, assess, and brief technical method statements, delivering task briefings that outline methodology, hazards, and control measures, followed by detailed end-of-shift debriefs to log lessons learned. You hold accountability for your team's administrative discipline by supporting the use of mobile data devices for accurate record-keeping.
Furthermore, you oversee routine vehicle checks, maintain accurate driving records, and manage vehicle or plant defect reporting in strict alignment with Connect Plus Services (CPS) procedures to drive continuous operational improvement and keep the network resilient.
