Job summary

Turnitin seeks an experienced Software Engineering Manager to lead and maintain products in the Integrity portfolio. You will manage globally distributed engineers, collaborate with product managers, and drive technical excellence with a focus on delivery and people development.

You will mentor engineers, align roadmaps with business goals, and foster a culture of psychological safety and high performance. This is a remote-first leadership role with global teams.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience.
• Experience collaborating across time zones and geographies.
• Hands-on engineering skills with modern software practices.
• Experience with JavaScript frameworks and Java in an AWS serverless environment.
• Excellent communication and collaboration across globally distributed teams.
• Proven project management experience with multiple initiatives.
• Deep understanding of software development methodologies, tools, and processes.
• Leadership across multiple teams including hiring, mentoring, and development.
• Coaching and mentoring of ICs and peers.
• Ability to influence and motivate teams to high performance.
• Hands-on experience with scalable front-end and back-end applications.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Experience in a similar high-tech role.

Responsibilities

• Lead and empower globally distributed engineering teams to deliver high-impact results.
• Manage and develop engineers, conduct regular 1:1s and provide growth feedback.
• Define and drive technical roadmaps, milestones, and delivery timelines.
• Collaborate with Solution Architects, UX, Security, DevOps, CS, and PM teams.
• Provide cross-functional technical oversight with the Tech Lead.
• Analyze metrics and drive continuous improvement across teams.
• Stay current with tools and methodologies and promote innovation.
• Foster transparent communication and stakeholder alignment.
• Own the quality and delivery of software aligned to business objectives.
• Collaborate with peers across engineering, product, and customer success teams.
