Job summary

Paneltex, a world‑leading manufacturer of temperature‑controlled vehicle bodies, is seeking a Field Based Service Engineer to join its expanding service team. The role covers UK operations with hands‑on installation, maintenance and repair of specialist vehicle bodies and equipment across customer sites, including remote locations.

You will diagnose faults, work independently and report findings using Sage CRM and MS Office.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in service engineering, maintenance or technical repair.
• Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills.
• Mechanical and/or electrical engineering knowledge.
• Full UK driving licence.
• Excellent communication and customer service.

Responsibilities

• Carry out warranty, service and repair work at customer sites.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and bodywork issues.
• Complete installations, maintenance and repair activities to a high technical standard.
• Produce accurate service reports with photographic evidence.
• Utilise Sage CRM and Microsoft Office to record service activities.
• Build and maintain strong customer relationships and identify additional work.
• Monitor the service inbox on a rotational weekend basis and respond to urgent service requests.
• Ensure all work adheres to health and safety regulations and company procedures.
