Job summary

Questech Recruitment is supporting an established vehicle manufacturer to recruit a Field Service Engineer for a mobile role covering Aldridge and surrounding counties. You will diagnose faults, service and repair specialist vehicles at customer sites and company workshops, ensuring safety and compliance.

You will travel to client locations, complete maintenance, prepare for MOT inspections and record all work using PDA systems, with a focus on high-quality service and customer communication.

Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Heavy Vehicle Maintenance and Repair.
• Previous experience as an HGV Technician, Field Service Engineer or Workshop Engineer.
• Strong diagnostic and fault-finding skills.
• Knowledge of commercial vehicle systems and compliance requirements.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and repairing faults on vehicle chassis and mounted equipment
• Completing servicing, maintenance and repairs to a high standard
• Preparing vehicles for MOT inspections
• Ensuring work meets Department for Transport and industry standards
• Using diagnostic equipment and software to identify faults

Field Service Engineer

Location: Reporting into Aldridge, covering Oxfordshire, Bedfordshire and Buckinghamshire

Salary: £45,000-£48,500 per annum, depending on experience

Hours: Monday to Friday Days

Questech Recruitment is working on behalf of an established specialist vehicle manufacturer to recruit an experienced Field Service Engineer.

This is a mobile position involving the servicing, maintenance and repair of specialist vehicles at customer sites and company workshops. You will work independently across your designated area, diagnosing faults and ensuring vehicles remain safe, compliant and operational.

The role

What we're looking for

• Basic computer literacy and confidence completing technical records
• Flexibility around working hours and travel requirements

Experience working with electric vehicles, an IRTEC qualification or an HGV Class 2 licence would be advantageous but is not essential.
