Job summary

Biffa is seeking an IRM Contract Manager to own complex waste management contracts and deliver smarter, safer solutions. The role covers sites and client-facing duties with home-based flexibility, including Gloucester, Oxford and Bath in the UK.

You will drive commercial performance, manage risks, and lead health and safety on client sites while ensuring first-class service and value for money across multiple locations.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of waste management and strong operational focus.
• Understanding of lean methodology and KPI-driven work.
• Proven track record of continuous improvement in an operational/service environment.

Responsibilities

• Act as main contact for client stakeholders; ensure contract compliance, service delivery, safety culture and retention.
• Drive account growth through improved commercial performance, upselling services and new waste streams.
• Produce monthly reports and portal data management for multi-site clients.
• Deliver site-based waste minimisation programmes aligned to targets and cost/environmental improvements.
• Manage monthly profit and loss across the contract portfolio.
• Apply health, safety, and waste regulatory knowledge to identify added-value opportunities.
• Lead and promote a strong safety culture on client sites and coach operatives and client teams.
• Support colleagues on large-scale projects, emergency response and specialist services.
