Job summary

NG Bailey Group is seeking an experienced Commercial Manager to join our Engineering division, supporting a portfolio of M&E projects across London and the South East/West. This remote-based role offers flexibility with occasional client meetings and travel.

You'll shape commercial strategies, manage contractual risks and lead negotiations from PCSA through pre-construction stages, partnering with Pre-Construction Lead and senior teams to ensure robust commercial performance.

Qualifications

• Strong knowledge of NEC & JCT contracts, contractual negotiations and commercial risk management.
• Experience in pre-construction, PCSA or early contractor involvement environments.
• Experience managing commercial aspects of multiple projects simultaneously.
• Strong financial awareness including cost planning, forecasting and commercial reporting.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
• Ability to work independently in a remote environment with travel flexibility.

Responsibilities

• Manage commercial activities across multiple projects during PCSA and pre-construction stages.
• Lead commercial negotiations and development of pre-delivery agreements.
• Identify and manage commercial risks and opportunities to protect profitability.
• Support budgets, cost planning, forecasting and commercial strategies.
• Provide commercial advice to senior management and teams.
• Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Ensure smooth handover from pre-construction to delivery with clear obligations.
