Job summary

NG Bailey Group Limited in Bristol seeks an experienced Commercial Manager to lead the commercial delivery of MOD projects in the region. You will oversee commercial performance, manage risk and subcontractor relationships, and collaborate with project teams and senior management.

This role requires NEC contract expertise, strong negotiation and stakeholder management, and the ability to grow a high-performing commercial team within a highly regulated environment.

Qualifications

• NEC3/NEC4 contracts knowledge is essential.
• Experience delivering commercial management for large-scale construction or infrastructure.
• Proven experience leading and developing commercial teams.
• Strong subcontract management, change control and compensation events.
• Eligibility for Security Check (SC) clearance due to project scope.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the commercial team across multiple MOD projects.
• Maintain safety-first culture in all activities.
• Oversee risk management and mitigation strategies.
• Manage NEC-based contract obligations, change control and compensation events.
• Monitor costs, forecasts, budgets and cash flow.
• Build relationships with clients, subcontractors and stakeholders.
• Lead commercial negotiations and final accounts.
• Oversee subcontractor procurement and performance.
• Prepare accurate commercial reports and payments.
• Support senior management with contract reviews and business planning.
• Provide leadership and development to the commercial team.
