Job summary

IMAX is hiring a Specialist, Technical Services to service and support digital projection and audio systems across the UK and Europe. This remote-based role requires frequent travel, strong technical expertise, and a commitment to customer service in a fast-paced environment.

The ideal candidate will have a engineering/electronics background, hands-on experience with electronics and diagnostic tools, and the ability to read schematics.

Qualifications

• Diploma or degree in Engineering, Electronics, Computer Technology, or related field, or equivalent combo of education and experience.
• Experience in electronics, computer repair, field service, or technical support environments.
• Strong knowledge of electrical systems, electronics, and diagnostic equipment (multimeters, oscilloscopes, audio test gear).
• Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.
• Experience with anti-static handling of electronic components.
• Valid driver’s license and passport for extensive travel in UK/Europe.

Responsibilities

• Perform preventative maintenance, troubleshooting, repairs, and upgrades on IMAX projection and audio systems via on-site visits and remote support.
• Maintain theatre uptime through proactive servicing and rapid response to issues.
• Plan, schedule, and execute service visits including hardware and software installations.
• Diagnose and resolve equipment failures to minimize downtime and lost shows.
• Prepare detailed service reports and maintain accurate records in CRM systems.
• Travel extensively throughout the UK and Europe to support theatre operations.
