Responsibilities

  • Attend customer sites to carry out planned and reactive AV service work.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults across AV equipment and systems.
  • Install, configure and commission AV equipment where required.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and system health checks.
  • Troubleshoot audio, video, control and connectivity issues.
  • Replace, repair and configure AV equipment and components.
  • Collaborate with manufacturers, suppliers and internal teams to resolve issues.
  • Provide clear technical explanations and support to customers.
  • Complete accurate service reports and equipment records.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely and to company procedures.
  • Travel to customer sites across the UK region with occasional overnight stays.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced and motivated Audio Visual Field Service Engineer to join our growing team.

This is a hands-on field-based role, responsible for installing, maintaining, servicing and fault-finding a wide range of professional AV systems at customer sites. You will work directly with customers to diagnose technical issues, deliver effective solutions and ensure AV systems are operating to the highest standard.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical knowledge, excellent problem-solving skills and a professional approach to customer service.

Key Responsibilities
  • Attend customer sites to carry out planned and reactive AV service work.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults across a range of audio visual equipment and systems.
  • Install, configure and commission AV equipment where required.
  • Carry out preventative maintenance and system health checks.
  • Troubleshoot audio, video, control and connectivity issues.
  • Replace, repair and configure AV equipment and associated components.
  • Work with manufacturers, suppliers and internal technical teams to resolve complex issues.
  • Provide clear technical explanations and support to customers.
  • Complete accurate service reports, job sheets and equipment records.
  • Ensure all work is completed safely, professionally and in accordance with company procedures.
  • Travel to customer sites throughout [UK / region], with occasional overnight stays where required.
About You

We are looking for someone who is:

  • Experienced in a field service, AV engineering or similar technical role.
  • Confident fault-finding and diagnosing technical issues.
  • Comfortable working independently at customer sites.
  • Customer-focused with excellent communication skills.
  • Organised, reliable and able to manage competing priorities.
  • Practical and hands-on, with a methodical approach to problem solving.
  • Comfortable working with IT networks, IP devices and AV control systems.
  • Willing to travel as part of the role.
  • A full UK driving licence holder.
Technical Experience

Experience with some or all of the following would be advantageous:

  • Professional audio and video systems
  • Displays, projectors and LED screens
  • Video conferencing systems
  • Digital signage
  • DSPs and audio processing
  • AV control systems
  • Crestron, Extron, Q-SYS or similar platforms
  • HDMI, HDBaseT, SDI and signal distribution
  • IP networking and AV-over-IP
  • Microsoft Teams Rooms
  • Basic electrical and cabling knowledge
