Job summary

Alignerr is seeking a CFD Engineer to design AI-training tasks that test fluid dynamics reasoning. You will craft bite-sized CFD problems with clear statements, automated scoring, and reference solutions. Hands-on OpenFOAM experience and strong fundamentals in fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and heat transfer are essential.

The role is an hourly contract, remote, with 10-40 hours per week. You will work independently, iterating tasks for accuracy and clarity while grounding them in real-world CFD

Qualifications

• Hands-on OpenFOAM experience
• Strong foundation in fluid mechanics, aerodynamics, and heat transfer
• Ability to formulate precise, self-contained CFD tasks
• Experience designing clear problem statements and deterministic checkers

Responsibilities

• Design compact CFD and aerodynamics tasks that test AI model reasoning
• Write clear, unambiguous problem statements on boundary conditions, mesh quality, flow regimes and setup
• Develop deterministic scoring checkers to evaluate model answers
• Provide verified reference solutions that prove solvability and correct scoring
• Review and iterate tasks for accuracy, clarity and difficulty
• Leverage OpenFOAM in task grounding and realism
• Work independently and asynchronously on schedule
