Job summary

PhysicsX in the United Kingdom is seeking a CFD Engineer (Delivery) to help define and solve engineering challenges alongside our data scientists and customers. You will build high-fidelity simulations and integrate CAE models into AI-driven tooling.

With 1–3 years in industry post-Masters/PhD, you will work on geometry clean-up, meshing, and automation, using Star-CCM+, OpenFOAM, or Fluent, and apply parametric CAD (NX/CATIA). Travel to Europe/Asia may be required.

Qualifications

• Growing foundation in fluid mechanics, heat transfer and multiphase modelling.
• Experience with CAE models integrated into AI-tools.
• Knowledge of Star-CCM+, OpenFOAM, or Fluent.
• Exposure to parametric CAD modelling (NX or CATIA) and coding in Python/Java.
• 1–3 years of industry experience in a commercial environment.
• Willingness to travel Europe/Asia/Oceania.

Responsibilities

• Define and solve engineering challenges alongside data scientists and customers.
• Build CFD models from geometry clean-up to post-processing for simple to moderate cases.
• Contribute to simulation pipeline automation for design optimisation and DoE studies.
• Prepare and present results clearly under supervision, building independence.
• Support development of Deep Learning surrogate data and HPC workflows.
• Travel occasionally to support customer engagements.
