Job summary

DS Smith is seeking a driven Business Development Manager for the UK Automotive cluster. This role is remote with regular travel across the UK to pitches, sites, and stakeholder meetings.

You will build growth strategies, manage a hunter pipeline, and collaborate across Sales, Marketing, CX, and Design to deliver value-led solutions. Responsibilities include leading cross-functional tender responses, onboarding, and providing accurate forecasts and insights.

Qualifications

• Extensive B2B business development experience with a hunter mentality.
• Deep knowledge of the Automotive ecosystem, logistics networks, and manufacturing supply chains.
• Strong written and verbal English communication, capable of presenting to senior executives.
• Ability to navigate, influence, and collaborate within multi-level matrix organisations.

Responsibilities

• Strategy & Growth: lead development and execution of market strategies for UK&I Automotive cluster to secure growth.
• Pipeline & Acquisition: build a robust pipeline of qualified accounts and convert high-value targets.
• Value-Led Pitching: coordinate with Sales, Marketing, CX, and Design to craft pitches and account playbooks.
• Stakeholder Management: act as senior contact for target clients and lead workshops.
• Tender & Onboarding Management: coordinate tender responses and oversee onboarding for smooth handovers.
• Performance & Insights: own forecasting and budgeting while tracking market trends.
