Job summary

DS Smith Europe is seeking an Innovation Specialist to drive customer-centric packaging innovations for strategic FMCG accounts. You will lead projects from opportunity identification through to implementation, leveraging PackRight methodologies to deliver measurable value for both customers and DS Smith.

Role requires strong packaging expertise, cross-functional collaboration, and a passion for sustainability, with remote UK-based work and ~40% travel to client sites.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in Innovation/Design/Development in packaging.
• Strong corrugated packaging knowledge with FMCG clients.
• Proven track record delivering value-driven packaging.
• Understanding of production lines, automation and manufacturing.
• Experience managing projects from idea to implementation.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication.
• Proficiency in CAD/visualisation tools and MS Office.

Responsibilities

• Develop customer innovation pipelines and turn insights into opportunities.
• Facilitate customer workshops, Innovation Days and PackRight sessions.
• Drive KPI delivery across strategic FMCG accounts.
• Collaborate with Sales and Account Managers to identify growth opportunities.
• Identify cost-saving, efficiency and sustainability improvements.
• Develop innovative packaging solutions with measurable value.
• Provide technical support and coordinate onboarding and continuous improvement.
