Job summary

West Northants Council is seeking a proactive Temporary Accommodation Site Officer to manage relocatable temporary accommodation sites across West Northamptonshire. You will ensure residents live in a safe, clean, and well-maintained environment and coordinate inspections, repairs, and contractor liaison.

The role emphasizes safeguarding, health and safety compliance, and excellent communication with residents and partners to deliver high-quality housing services.

Qualifications

• Experience of managing temporary accommodation, supported housing or rented housing and knowledge of private rented sector legislation.
• Training or experience in applying the Decent Homes Standard or Housing Health and Safety Rating System is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee day-to-day management of relocatable temporary accommodation sites to ensure safe, clean, secure and well-maintained environments.
• Carry out site inspections and monitor health and safety compliance across sites.
• Coordinate repairs and maintenance, liaise with contractors and maintain accurate records.
• Support residents, respond to enquiries, and promote positive community standards.
• Manage resident move‑ins/move‑outs and prepare accommodations for new occupancies.
• Ensure high-quality service delivery and maximise site availability.
