Job summary

Adur & Worthing Councils are seeking a Temporary Accommodation Officer to coordinate placements of homeless households into temporary accommodation and work across related teams within the Housing Needs remit.

You will conduct inspections, home visits, and engage with households via in-person, written, and telephone communications, applying strong negotiation and IT skills while maintaining high attention to detail.

Qualifications

• DBS check Enhanced with Adults Barred List is required.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage sensitive cases.
• Good written and verbal communication skills are essential.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage placements of homeless households into temporary accommodation.
• Deal with homeless households face to face, in writing and by phone.
• Conduct inspections and home visits to different accommodation types within Adur & Worthing boroughs.
• Manage complaints and resolve issues with empathy and robustness.
