Job summary

Mencap is seeking Relief Workers for our Domiciliary Care Service in St Neots. You will support adults with learning disabilities, help with daily activities, and provide emotional support across various venues and shifts. A driver with a vehicle is essential due to travel between locations.

Job description

Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate Relief Workers to join our incredible Domiciliary Care team in St Neots.

As a Relief Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.

From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

We are looking for a Relief Worker to join our Domiciliary Care Service based in St Neots

As you are likely to support more than one person on any one day and travel a short distance from each venue, a driver with access to a vehicle you can use for work is essential.

Shifts will be spread across mornings, afternoons, evenings, weekends, and bank holidays. Currently shifts start as early as 07:00 and evening shifts finish by 18:00. Flexibility is a must as you will need to be available to work across various shifts and venues. This role will not involve any overnight working. We do require alternate weekend working.

About our Service

Our Team support adults with learning disabilities to access the community, maintain their homes, and just live a normal and active life. Support we provided is varied and may involve support with medication and health matters, meal planning and preparation, budgeting and banking, or support with social activities, trips out to cafes, cinema, getting some fresh air and exercise. The person you support may have their own goals/ambitions and just need a little help to achieve these.

£25,577 per annum, pro-rata + excellent benefits

£29,280 - £31,623 per annum (dependent on qualifications)
