Job summary

Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Doncaster.

As a Support Worker, you'll help individuals with learning disabilities with daily activities, personal care, finances and emotional support, enabling them to achieve their goals. This role involves supporting people with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health needs and communication difficulties, with DBS checks and references required.

Mencap is seeking passionate Support Workers to join our incredible team in Doncaster.

As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs. From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

Our service is home to individuals who require support with learning disabilities, physical disabilities, mental health needs, and communication difficulties. We need Support Workers to provide the physical and emotional support that our people we support need every day. This includes assistance with personal care, medication, finances, activities and everything else to help them achieve their goals and aspirations.

Qualities and Skills Required:
  • Relationship Building: Essential for gaining the trust of the people we support, establishing open communication, and building lasting relationships.
  • Patience and Understanding: Important for navigating challenging situations effectively.
  • Conflict-Resolution Techniques: Necessary for managing and resolving conflicts in a constructive manner.
  • Must be a driver and hold a manual driving licence.
What we’re looking for:
  • A genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
  • People who enjoy interactivity with the people we support.
Contract options:

Relief

  • Days: Shifts Between 07:00-22:00
  • Waking Nights Available
  • Sleep ins paid at a flat rate of £64.20
  • Must be flexible to cover weekends on a rota basis

All roles are subject to an enhanced DBS check and suitable references
