Job summary

Mencap is seeking Relief Support Workers in Cambridge to join our caring team and help people with learning disabilities lead fulfilling lives.

You will assist with daily activities, provide emotional support, and work within a 24-hour care framework. We offer rotas planned 4 weeks in advance, with a sleep-in option at an enhanced flat rate, and a welcoming, inclusive workplace.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to individuals with learning disabilities in daily activities and personal care.
• Offer emotional support, companionship and help build meaningful relationships.
• Contribute to a 24-hour service rota and ensure high-quality, person-centered care.
• Attend to DBS checks and provide suitable references as part of the recruitment process.

Job description

Mencap are seeking Relief Support Workers to join our incredible team in Cambridge.

As a Relief Support Worker, you will have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.

From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

What we're looking for :

• A genuine passion for supporting others.
• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
• Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
• A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.

All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!

There is also a non contractual sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £ 64.20
