Job description

Calling all compassionate and dedicated individuals! Mencap is seeking passionate a Support Worker to join our incredible team in Haywards Heath.

As a Support Worker, you'll have the opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of individuals with learning disabilities. You will be working with a diverse group of people, each with their own unique abilities and needs.

From assisting with daily activities to providing emotional support, you’ll play a vital role in their life.

Our supported living service in Haywards Heath, providing person-centred care and support to five individuals with complex needs. These needs include conditions such as epilepsy, bipolar disorder, and specific eating and drinking requirements. Two of the individuals we support are wheelchair users, and all individuals require assistance with personal care and activities of daily living.

We are committed to promoting independence, dignity, and choice. Each individual we support has access to their own vehicle and is actively encouraged to engage with the local community, maintain social connections, and enjoy meaningful activities tailored to their interests and goals.

What we're looking for :
  • A genuine passion for supporting others.
  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to build meaningful relationships.
  • Flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • A positive and empathetic attitude towards individuals with learning disabilities.
Contract options :

All our services are 24hr care. We prepare the rotas at least 4 weeks in advance so you can still plan your personal and social life!

  • Days: Between 07:00-22:00

There is also a sleep-in available where you will receive an enhanced flat rate payment of £ 64.20.
