Job summary

AVANTE CARE AND SUPPORT LIMITED is opening Malling Grange, a luxury care home, in Autumn 2026. The Kitchen Assistant will relief-work across the opening team, helping prepare meals, serve residents, and maintain high kitchen hygiene standards.

Initial placement at Pilgrims View, Snodland, before transferring to Malling Grange once the home opens. Full training and ongoing support are provided to ensure exceptional resident meals and wellbeing.

Qualifications

Environmental Health Certificate in Food Hygiene is essential.
Team player with a positive, flexible attitude.
Experience in a similar role or City & Guilds qualification preferred.
Passion for making meals that bring joy to others.

Responsibilities

Prep fresh ingredients – fruits, vegetables, and more.
Assist with meal preparation and support our Cook/Head Chef.
Serve meals and ensure mealtimes are enjoyable for residents.
Keep kitchen and dining areas clean, safe, and hygienic.
Follow food hygiene, safety, and nutritional standards every day.
Help plan menus with input from residents.
Ensure high standards of care in line with Avante’s Eden Alternative Philosophy.

Please note: Whilst Malling Grange is being prepared for opening, successful applicants will initially work at Pilgrims View, 19 Roberts Road, Snodland, ME6 5HL, before transferring to Malling Grange when the home opens.

No previous care experience? No problem. Full training and ongoing support will be provided.
