Job summary

Abbeyfield Living Society in Wigton is seeking relief staff to join our Sheltered Housing team. You will balance cooking and resident support, delivering home-cooked meals and assisting residents in daily activities in a warm, safe environment.

This bank (zero hours) role offers flexible scheduling and the chance to impact older people’s wellbeing. You will receive training and work alongside a friendly team, with DBS checks and references as part of the onboarding.

Qualifications

• Experience in cooking for residents.
• Ability to support residents with daily needs.
• Maintain clean, safe communal areas.
• Empathy and ability to work in a team.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation & Cooking: prepare and serve home-cooked meals for residents and manage food stock.
• Resident Support: be the first point of contact for residents and assist with daily needs.
• Housekeeping: keep communal areas clean and well-maintained.
• Wellbeing Promotion: promote residents' wellbeing and sense of belonging.
