Job summary

Abbeyfield Living Society in Wigton is seeking relief staff to join our Sheltered Housing team. You will balance cooking and resident support, delivering home-cooked meals and assisting residents in daily activities in a warm, safe environment.

This bank (zero hours) role offers flexible scheduling and the chance to impact older people’s wellbeing. You will receive training and work alongside a friendly team, with DBS checks and references as part of the onboarding.

Responsibilities

• Meal Preparation & Cooking: prepare and serve home-cooked meals for residents and manage food stock.

Role: Relief Staff (Resident Support - Cook and Housekeeping)

Pay Rate: £12.71 - 13.62

We’re seeking relief staff to complement our existing Sheltered Housing team. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking for a flexible, rewarding role where they can make a real difference in the lives of older people.

About the Role

As relief staff,you will take on a dual role, combining cooking and resident support responsibilities. You will directly impact the wellbeing of our residents by providing the support and care they need in a safe, nurturing environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Meal Preparation & Cooking:Prepare and serve home-cooked meals for residents, while maintaining food stock and ensuring proper rotation.
• Resident Support:Be the first point of contact for residents, offering a friendly face and support with their daily needs.
• Housekeeping:Ensure communal areas are clean, tidy, and well-maintained, creating a comfortable environment for all.
• Wellbeing Promotion:Promote the overall wellbeing of our residents, ensuring they feel respected, empowered, and connected within our community.
