Job summary

Wrexham County Borough Council is seeking an exceptional cleaner to provide high quality cleaning of our school on an ad hoc basis when cover is needed. Duties include hoovering, mopping, polishing, and sanitising toilets, corridors, and stairways.

The role involves using a mechanical scrubber and buffing machine for floors, with hours typically from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. during term time, Monday to Friday. Enhanced DBS is required, and council encourages bilingual Welsh/English applicants.

• DBS check preferred or required.
• Welsh/English bilingual capability is welcomed and English or Welsh submissions are valued equally.

Job description

We are seeking to employ an exceptional, experienced cleaner to carry out the duties of providing high quality cleaning of our school on an ad hoc basis when cover is needed. Your main duties will include:

• Hoovering/mopping, polishing, dusting offices, sports hall and classrooms, and emptying bins.
• Use of mechanical scrubber to clean sports hall floor and other floors around the school.
• Polish floor with buffing machine.
• Toilet areas, disinfecting, mopping, emptying bins, toilet sanitising.
• Corridors – polishing, hovering/mopping and wiping edges.
• Stairways – hovering or mopping, wiping edges.

• Undertake deep clean of school as and when directed.
• Undertake other duties as required by your Headteacher and/or Supervisor.

The hours of work would be on an ad hoc basis to cover absent staff. During term time the hours we usually need to cover are from 3.00 p.m. to 6.00 p.m. Monday - Friday.

There may be additional different hours in the day that we would offer for cover during school holidays and on training days.

An Enhanced DBS is required for this position.
