Job summary

Ysgol Penycae in Wrexham is seeking an enthusiastic teaching assistant to join a busy nursery team. The post is 20 hours per week, 8.45 - 12.45, and the successful candidate will contribute to giving children a positive start to their school careers.

The role requires foundation phase experience and NVQ level 2 in supporting teaching and learning or childcare, plus grades C or above in English and maths. DBS clearance and EWC registration are essential.

Job description

Ysgol Penycae is a successful, inclusive school, with a strong commitment to meeting the needs of all its children. We are looking for an enthusiastic teaching assistant to join our happy and dedicated team to work across the school. The post is for 20 hours per week, 8.45 - 12.45. The successful candidate would be an important part of our team, making a vital contribution to the service we provide to children.

This post will be based in the nursery class, where you will be part of a team of three. This is an excellent opportunity to help to ensure that children receive a really positive start to their school careers. You must have foundation phase experience in order to be considered.

The successful candidate will have a positive attitude to children, a commitment to seeing all children make progress, good teamwork skills, a sense of humour, patience and resilience. Candidates should have a minimum of NVQ level 2 in supporting teaching and learning, or childcare, or equivalent, and grade C or above (5 in England) in both English and maths. Anyone without these minimum qualifications will not be considered.

An Enhanced DBS & EWC registration is required for this position.
