Job summary

Orkney Islands Council is seeking a Relief SVQ Assessor - Agriculture to assess SVQs for candidates at workplaces in Orkney and Caithness. The role requires independence, self-motivation and clear communication.

Travel between work locations within Orkney and Caithness is expected, with PVG level 2 disclosure and an assessing qualification or progress toward one. The position is paid at £19.48 per hour (Including Distant Islands Allowance) and is offered on an as and when required basis,

Qualifications

• Independent working ability and self-motivation.
• Good communication skills.
• HNC/SVQ 3 or equivalent in relevant curriculum area; holding or achieving L+D 9 or equivalent within 12 months.

Responsibilities

• Assess SVQs at workplaces.
• Visit candidates in their place of work within Orkney and Caithness.
• Maintain accurate records and liaise with employers.
