Job summary

Orkney Islands Council is seeking Relief Early Years Practitioners to work across various schools and educational establishments. Hours are offered on an as and when required basis, with pay of £17.18 to £17.94 per hour including Distant Islands Allowance.

The role focuses on delivering flexible, high-quality care and education to supporting young children and families. Grade E requires 2 years' relevant experience and registration with SSSC within 3 months; Grade F requires 1 year of experience

Qualifications

• Good general education including literacy and numeracy.
• Minimum 2 years experience involving young children.
• Must register with SSSC as Practitioner (Day Care of Children) within 3 months.
• Grade F requires 1 year experience in Early Learning and Childcare and the specified qualifications.
• Both Grade E and F require SSSC registration within 3 months of appointment.
