Job summary

The Sterling Choice is seeking a Reliability Engineer for a days-based, Monday–Friday role in the UK FMCG sector. You will be responsible for reducing downtime, driving reliability improvements and implementing preventive and predictive maintenance across the site.

You will analyse failures, identify root causes and work with Maintenance and Production teams to ensure asset availability and performance. Strong analytical skills and CI mindset are essential.

Qualifications

• Experience in Reliability, Maintenance or Continuous Improvement engineering.
• Strong understanding of engineering maintenance principles.
• Experience analysing equipment failures and carrying out RCA.
• Ideally FMCG/high-volume manufacturing experience.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

• Analyse equipment failures and identify root causes.
• Develop and improve preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
• Use engineering data to identify trends, recurring faults and opportunities for improvement.
• Drive reliability and continuous improvement projects across site.

We're working with a highly reputable and well-established FMCG manufacturer who are looking for an experienced Reliability Engineer to join their engineering team.

This is a great opportunity for someone who enjoys looking at the bigger picture, improving equipment performance and making sure those same breakdowns don't keep coming back.

The Role

• Analyse equipment failures and identify root causes

What We're Looking For

• Previous experience in a Reliability, Maintenance or Continuous Improvement Engineering role
• Strong understanding of engineering maintenance principles
• Experience analysing equipment failures and carrying out RCA
• Ideally experience within FMCG, food or another high-volume manufacturing environment
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
• Someone who enjoys getting into the detail and finding the actual cause of a problem, rather than simply putting a plaster over it
