Job summary

Confidential is seeking an experienced Credit Controller to join a busy collections team in the UK. The role focuses on managing a portfolio of customer accounts, reducing arrears, and delivering excellent customer service.

You will pro-actively collect outstanding debts, communicate with customers by phone and email, allocate payments, and reconcile accounts while maintaining strong relationships and high attention to detail.

Qualifications

• Proven background in Credit Control is essential.
• Strong negotiation skills are required.
• Knowledge of creditworthiness and credit monitoring procedures.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to build relationships.
• Strong attention to detail with good problem-solving abilities.
• Confident with Microsoft Excel and bespoke systems (training provided).
• Ability to prioritise workload and manage multiple accounts.
• Professional and confident telephone manner.
• Organised with excellent time management skills.
• Experience of Consumer debt collection is helpful.

Responsibilities

• Proactively manage and collect outstanding customer debt.
• Contact customers by telephone and email to resolve overdue accounts.
• Allocate incoming payments accurately.
• Reconcile customer accounts and investigate payment discrepancies, ensuring these are resolved quickly.
