Job summary

Confidential in Coventry is seeking a Credit Controller to join a close-knit finance team. You will own your own customer ledger, chase overdue payments by phone and email, and work with sales to manage credit risk.

Qualifications

• Experience in credit control within an SME or similar environment.
• Confident, friendly telephone manner and ability to build strong customer relationships.
• Good organisational skills and a proactive approach to chasing payments.
• Comfortable using Excel for tracking and reporting.
• Ability to investigate queries and resolve them effectively.

Responsibilities

• Chasing outstanding payments by phone and email.
• Managing customer accounts within agreed credit terms and limits.
• Setting up new accounts and carrying out credit checks.
• Reconciling accounts and resolving queries that delay payment.
• Working with the sales team to manage credit risk and overdue balances.
• Taking ownership of collection targets and aged debt.
