Relationship Director, Commercial Mid-Market

Join us as a Relationship Director in Commercial Mid-Market. This role involves managing and developing a portfolio of commercial customers, providing them with suitable products and services for their financial needs. You will drive sales activity to maximize new business and manage customer relationships to enhance the customer experience. Your long-term thinking and commercial acumen will support business growth and help build lasting relationships.

Your time will be split between client meetings at their premises, collaborating with colleagues in the office (minimum two days a week or as required), and working remotely within the region.

What you'll do
  • Show an entrepreneurial attitude while driving customer advocacy and creating value from relationships.
  • Provide excellent customer service, offering the right financial solutions to meet customer needs.
  • Increase customer loyalty and satisfaction by exceeding expectations.
  • Maintain and develop relationships with key business and functional partners.
  • Use tools effectively for contact and strategy planning, identifying and meeting customer needs, and recording interactions.
  • Present pitches and proposals to customers.
  • Analyze financial and other information to prepare structured credit applications.
  • Deliver targeted new lending while adhering to risk, cost, and capital controls.
The skills you'll need
  • A diploma in lending skills is mandatory; if not held, the exam can be taken within six months of starting.
  • Previous experience in commercial banking.
  • Highly developed interpersonal, negotiation, and networking skills in a sales environment.
  • Proven risk assessment experience with monitoring and control skills.
  • Outstanding customer relationship skills.
  • In-depth knowledge of credit processes and policies.
  • An understanding of macroeconomic and financial outlooks, with a strong grasp of the commercial sector.
  • Experience analyzing complex financial data and structuring solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
