Relationship Director, Commercial Mid-Market

Join us as a Relationship Director in Commercial Mid-Market.

  • This role involves managing and developing a portfolio of commercial customers, providing them with suitable products and services for their financial needs.
  • You will drive sales activity to maximize new business opportunities while managing customer relationships to enhance the customer experience.
  • Your long-term thinking and commercial acumen will support business growth and help build lasting relationships.
  • Your time will be divided between client meetings at their premises, collaboration with colleagues in the office (minimum two days a week), and remote work within the region.
What you'll do

We seek someone with an entrepreneurial attitude who can foster customer advocacy and create value from both new and existing relationships. Providing excellent customer service, you'll deliver tailored financial solutions, increasing loyalty and satisfaction by exceeding expectations.

You’ll also be responsible for:

  • Maintaining and developing relationships with key business and functional partners.
  • Using tools effectively for contact and strategy planning, identifying customer needs, and recording interactions.
  • Presenting pitches and papers to customers.
  • Analyzing financial data to prepare complex credit applications.
  • Delivering targeted new lending, adhering to cost, risk, and capital controls.
The skills you'll need

A diploma in lending skills is mandatory; if not held, the exam can be completed within six months of starting. Prior experience in commercial banking is required. Strong interpersonal, negotiation, and networking skills are advantageous, along with proven risk assessment capabilities across diverse customer situations.

Additionally, you should have:

  • Deep knowledge of credit processes and policies.
  • An understanding of macroeconomic and financial trends, with insight into the commercial sector.
  • Experience analyzing complex financial information and structuring solutions.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
