Job summary

QBE in London is seeking an experienced Reinsurance Claims Adjuster to own a diverse portfolio and investigate complex coverage matters, including marine and aviation risks. You will reserve, settle, and respond to inquiries promptly while maintaining accurate records in our systems and delivering high-quality service to internal and external customers.

Qualifications

• Strong background in claims handling with reinsurance experience.
• Experience in Marine & Aviation reinsurance is preferred.
• Excellent investigative and analytical skills.

Responsibilities

• Investigate and resolve claims promptly and effectively with minimal leakage.
• Reserve promptly and accurately to maintain clear liability.
• Ensure premiums have been received and reinstatement premiums calculated as needed.
• Update systems accurately and timely.
• Respond to settlements and advisories within agreed timeframes.
• Identify and investigate coverage issues.
• Manage own caseload for prompt handling.
• Provide excellent service to internal and external customers.
• Produce regular statistical and analytical reinsurance information.

Reinsurance Claims Adjuster

London/Hybrid

The role involves examining, evaluating, and processing claims accurately and promptly in line with contractual obligations.

We’re looking for an experienced Reinsurance Claims Adjuster to join QBE. This is a great opportunity to take ownership of a varied claims portfolio, investigate complex coverage matters and work with key stakeholders across the business, with particular relevance to Marine & Aviation reinsurance.

Your new role

• Investigate and resolve Claims promptly and effectively, to provide excellent Claims handling service with minimal leakage
• Reserve promptly and accurately to ensure that QBE’s liability is clear at all times
• Ensure that base premiums have been received and, where appropriate, reinstatement premiums have been calculated correctly, before making Claim payments
• Ensure accurate and timely update of the company’s systems as and when required
• Ensure that Claims settlements and advices are responded to within agreed timeframes to maintain excellent customer service
• Identify and investigate any coverage issues
• Maintain efficient handling of your own caseload to ensure the prompt, timely and effective handling of Claims
• Provide an excellent service to internal and external customers
• Produce regular statistical and analytical reinsurance information to key stakeholders to enable effective monitoring of their portfolios.

About you

• Strong background in claims experience preferably within Reinsurance, preferably experience within Marine & Aviation
• Excellent investigative skills
• Effective communication skills
• Able to competently use MS office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
• Working knowledge of London Market and ECF/Writeback preferred
