Job summary

QBE Insurance Group in Leeds is seeking a Claims Adjuster for Marine & Energy who will manage complex claims, assess coverage, investigate, negotiate settlements, and collaborate with service providers in a hybrid work setting.

The role focuses on maintaining knowledge of guidelines, sustaining client relationships with insureds and service partners, and contributing to reporting and strategy discussions to control costs and improve service.

Qualifications

• Experience in a claims department or the insurance industry.
• Experience handling claims within the respective line of business
• Excellent investigative skills
• Proven experience dealing with policy coverage
• Experience dealing with liability negotiations
• Effective communication skills, written and verbal
• Relationship Management skills
• Able to effectively use MS office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.

Responsibilities

• Maintain current knowledge of insurance guidelines, policy changes, and modifications.
• Maintain good client relationships with insureds, agents and service providers.
• Provide claim management for various types of insurance claims with a focus on Energy first part and third party losses
• Assist in the administration of complex claims across various lines of business.
• Identify and implement strategies to minimise Claims Costs and Leakage, including assisting in reducing static claims values.
• Respond to client requests following service standards.
• Assist with the negotiation of claims settlements.
• Participate in relevant meetings to share and develop strategy, knowledge, and best practices.
• Identify and resolve issues or anomalies non-compliant with policies and procedures.
• Assist with the daily review of reports and ad hoc reporting.
