QBE is seeking a Claims Adjuster for Marine & Energy in Leeds with hybrid working arrangements. You will manage complex claims, assess policy coverage, investigate, evaluate and negotiate settlements while maintaining client relationships and working with suppliers and internal teams.

The role requires experience in a claims environment, strong investigative skills and effective communication. The position offers a comprehensive benefits package and the chance to contribute to a leading insurer.

Claims Adjuster - Marine & Energy

The purpose of this role is to provide exceptional claims service to customers by managing complex claims effectively. This includes assessing policy coverage, investigating, evaluating, and negotiating claims, as well as collaborating with suppliers and stakeholders while offering technical support.

The Opportunity

• Maintain current knowledge of insurance guidelines, policy changes, and modifications.
• Maintain good client relationships with insureds, agents and service providers.
• Provide claim management for various types of insurance claims with a focus on Energy first part and third party losses
• Assist in the administration of complex claims across various lines of business.
• Identify and implement strategies to minimise Claims Costs and Leakage, including assisting in reducing static claims values.
• Respond to client requests following service standards.
• Assist with the negotiation of claims settlements.
• Participate in relevant meetings to share and develop strategy, knowledge, and best practices.
• Identify and resolve issues or anomalies non-compliant with policies and procedures.
• Assist with the daily review of reports and ad hoc reporting.

About You

• Experience in a claims department or the insurance industry.
• Experience handling claims within the respective line of business
• Excellent investigative skills
• Proven experience dealing with policy coverage
• Experience dealing with liability negotiations
• Effective communication skills, written and verbal
• Relationship Management skills
• Able to effectively use MS office applications such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
