Job summary

RGB Recruitment Ltd in Cornwall is seeking a Registered Service Manager–Young People to oversee an Ofsted-regulated supported accommodation service for 16–17 year olds. The role is permanent, full-time, 37 hours per week, with hybrid working and 2–3 days in Tolvaddon.

You will lead a dedicated staff team, ensuring safeguarding and regulatory compliance, high standards of care, and trauma-informed practice while building partnerships with local authorities and social care partners.

Qualifications

• Minimum 2 years' experience within supported housing
• Strong leadership and people management experience
• Good understanding of Ofsted Supported Accommodation Regulations and Quality Standards
• Excellent knowledge of safeguarding, child protection and Children's Services legislation
• Experience supporting vulnerable young people, ideally aged 16–17
• Understanding of trauma‑informed practice and adolescent development
• Strong communication, organisational and decision‑making skills
• Good IT skills and experience maintaining accurate records and reports
• Evidence of continuing professional development
• Full UK driving licence

Job description

This permanent, full-time post as Registered Service Manager–Young People - Cornwall offers a salary of £45,094 to £50,104 annually, working 37 hours weekly on a hybrid basis with two to three days in the Tolvaddon office. The successful candidate will oversee an Ofsted-regulated supported accommodation service for 16 to 17 year olds on behalf of a housing association, leading a committed staff group.

Essential qualities include proven managerial experience within young people's services, thorough knowledge of safeguarding and regulatory frameworks, and the ability to maintain high standards of care. Strong leadership, sound judgement and effective partnership working are equally important for this Cornwall-based position.
