Job summary

RJS Resourcing Ltd is working with a children's residential care provider to appoint a passionate Registered Manager to lead a brand-new home in Stoke-on-Trent.

This role involves overseeing the registration process, recruiting and developing a dedicated staff team, and creating a safe, therapeutic environment for young people while ensuring safeguarding and Ofsted compliance.

This is a high-visibility opportunity with direct support from Directors and potential for service growth.

Qualifications

• Previous management experience in children's residential care.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and Ofsted requirements.
• Level 5 Diploma in Leadership and Management for Residential Childcare or equivalent.
• Experience supporting young people with EBD advantageous.
• Excellent leadership, communication and organisational skills.
• Ability to establish and develop a new residential service.
• Passion for delivering high-quality, child-centred care.

Responsibilities

• Lead the registration process with the Directors.
• Recruit and develop a dedicated residential care team.
• Create a safe, nurturing, child-centred environment.
• Ensure compliance with Ofsted, safeguarding, and Children’s Homes Regulations 2015.
• Develop policies, procedures and recording systems.
• Oversee care plans, risk assessments and placement planning.
• Build relationships with local authorities, social workers, families and professionals.
• Maintain inspection readiness and high QA standards.
• Promote positive outcomes and wellbeing for young people.
