Registered Manager– Lead a Brand-New Residential Care Home in Southport (Full-Time)
We have an exciting opportunity for a dedicated and experienced Registered Manager to lead a new Residential Care Home opening in Southport. This is a rare chance to shape and lead a service from the very beginning, embedding a culture of excellence, compassion, and person-centred care. You’ll be at the heart of establishing a high-quality, safe, and empowering home for individuals with Learning Disabilities, Autism, and Mental Health needs.
About The Role
As a Registered Manager, you will:
- Take the lead in establishing, registering, and launching the new service, ensuring full regulatory compliance from day one.
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of the residential care home, including rota planning, staffing, and service delivery.
- Ensure that all care and support provided is person-centred, safe, and responsive to individual needs.
- Recruit, develop, and retain a skilled and passionate staff team, fostering a positive and supportive culture.
- Promote a transparent and open working environment, where staff feel valued and empowered.
- Build strong relationships with families, local authorities, and external professionals.
- Ensure all documentation, care plans, audits, and risk assessments are compliant and regularly updated.
- Manage the home’s budget and resources effectively, in partnership with internal teams.
- Champion a culture of continuous improvement, conducting audits, driving service development, and preparing for inspections.
What We’re Looking For
- Willingness to work towards Level 5 Diploma in Health & Social Care.
- Experience as a Registered Manager or in a similar leadership role within Residential Care.
- A strong understanding of CQC regulations, Safeguarding, MCA, DoLS, and Health & Safety.
- Experience supporting individuals with Autism, Learning Disabilities, or Mental Health needs.
- A proven ability to build and lead teams, manage performance, and support staff development.
- Excellent communication skills and the ability to build effective relationships with stakeholders.
- Strong IT and administrative skills, with experience using care management systems.
- Flexible and proactive approach – able to meet the needs of a new and evolving service.
- Willingness to be part of the Registered Manager on-call rota.
Preferable
- Level 5 Diploma in Leadership for Health & Social Care (or working towards).
- Experience of opening or setting up new services.
- Familiarity with systems such as Nourish, PeopleHR, Deputy, and Radar.
- Experience working in complex care environments.
