Job summary

Jupiter Recruitment is seeking a Residential Registered Manager in the Lancaster area to lead a children’s residential home. You will be accountable for safeguarding, daily operations and driving high standards of care for children with complex needs.

The role requires leadership experience, relevant qualifications, and a passion for achieving the best outcomes for children and young people. An excellent salary and structured CPD are offered within a supportive leadership team.

Qualifications

• Leadership or management qualification plus NVQ Level 3 and 2-3 years of management experience.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and ability to lead safeguarding practice.
• Excellent communication skills and experience leading staff teams.

Job description

An incredible new job opportunity has arisen for a committed Residential Registered Manager to manage a children's residential home based in the Slyne, Lancaster area. You will join a provider with a strong reputation for delivering high-quality care and achieving positive outcomes for children and young people

This is a fantastic care provider dedicated to supporting children and young people who have complex emotional and behavioural needs, providing a safe and supportive environment

As the Manager your key responsibilities include:

• Responsible for delivering high-quality, safe and nurturing care for children and young people in the home
• Hold overall accountability for safeguarding and promoting the welfare of the child, overseeing day-to-day operations, leading staff practice, and driving continuous improvement in line with company standards, ethos and the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015
• Provide strong leadership, ensuring care is child-centred and focused on achieving the best outcomes for the child
• Maintaining robust safeguarding systems, safer staffing arrangements, clear risk assessments, and effective multi-agency working
• Ensure the child's individual vulnerabilities, behaviours and support needs are understood and responded to consistently
• Supervise as well as mentor staff, organise work patterns, deliver care-focused training, ensure care plans, safeguarding procedures and support services are implemented effectively

The following skills and experience would be preferred and beneficial for the role:

• Strong childcare and safeguarding knowledge, including the Children Act 1989, Care Standards Act 2000, the Children's Homes (England) Regulations 2015 and Quality Standards
• Ability to lead safeguarding practice, manage risk, respond to incidents, and ensure the home meets its duty to protect and promote the welfare of the child at all times
• Experience of managing staff teams, excellent communication skills, and the ability to lead with confidence, professionalism and resilience
• A genuine passion for children's homes and a strong commitment to achieving the best possible outcomes for children and young people

**To be considered for this position you must hold a leadership and Management qualification, or willingness to work towards one, together with NVQ Level 3 in Caring for Children and Young People + 2-3 years of management experience and a strong background in supporting young people**

The successful Manager will receive an excellent salary of £50,000 - £55,000 per annum. This exciting position is a permanent full time role working 40 hours a week. In return for your hard work and commitment you will receive the following generous benefits:
