Job description

Are you a registered Care Manager looking for your next challenge? Are you someone who has experience of managing services for people with complex needs? Does the prospect of setting up a new purpose built specialist Supported Living service for autistic adults appeal to you? If yes, we have the right opportunity for you.

Autism West Midlands, the leading provider of autism specialist services in the west midlands are working towards the opening of a new, specialist supported living scheme for autistic adults in September 2025. The scheme is located in Marston Green, Solihull.

We are currently recruiting for a Registered Care Manager.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to advance their career and expand their skills in project management, personalised support practices and positive behaviour support. This will be your opportunity to recruit your own staff team and develop a positive culture that enables the delivery of least restrictive support in a specialist setting.

This is an opportunity for an exceptional Manager to contribute to the setup of the service, the transition of individuals into their new home and to develop person centred care practices which take account of each person’s needs, aspirations and motivations. We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Manager to lead, motivate and develop their own staff team, working alongside other professionals to develop innovative best practice.

As the Registered Care Manager you will:

· Promote an enabling environment and ensure high standards of professional practice, whilst achieving compliance with the standards required by CQC as well as internal policies and procedures

· Ensure that the support provided is led by the person, that it offers new experiences through a wide range of meaningful activities both within their home and the local community

· Manage and deliver successful transitions for individuals new to Autism West Midlands.

· Develop and maintain effective communication systems internally and externally between families, advocates, professionals, individuals and across our support functions

· Manage, support, advise and motivate staff teams to ensure a person centred approach that encourages independence and enables people to achieve their goals.

We are looking for a Registered Care Manager who possesses the commitment, experience and expertise to help us drive our community living services forward. As a specialist autism provider we are looking for someone with the knowledge and experience to support the delivery of excellent support and Autism practice.

The successful candidate must have experience of managing/working in a supported living environment with people with complex needs, including Autism and Behaviours of concern. It is essential that you hold a level 4 qualification in a relevant field. You will have strong leadership skills with an ability to motivate and empower staff teams to deliver excellent support and work towards achieving agreed goals and outcomes. You will be someone who is experienced in managing a service in relation to budget control, business development, reviewing and implementing processes, referrals and liaising with local authorities.

This role requires you to be an integral part of the management team working alongside key support functions such as the Operations Team, Behavioural Specialist, Finance, Marketing and our HR team. You will therefore be someone who is able to forge positive, professional working relationships with key stakeholders as well as take an active part in the delivery of the organisations operational plan and key objectives. We offer a number of benefits including:

· A competitive salary £35,956.20 progressing up a scale to £40,750.36

· 33 days paid annual leave

· A fully paid Healthcare Scheme – this allows you to claim back money for dental, optical and many more treatments!

· Life Assurance Scheme

· Specialist Training and a comprehensive induction

· Peer and Management support

· Pension Scheme
