The purpose of the role
- To support our home managers to ensure smooth and successful business operations, aiming for 'Good' compliance, high occupancy, efficient payroll management, minimal agency use, and satisfied teams, residents, and relatives.
- This role reports directly to the Operations Director/COO and collaborates closely with the Support Office team. It does not involve line managing home managers but working alongside them.

Essential experience required
- Deep understanding of 'Good' care home operations and CQC expectations
- Experience in management roles within large care homes (e.g., manager, deputy, clinical lead)
- Long-term employment stability
- Knowledge of high occupancy strategies, payroll, cost control, and reducing agency reliance
- Proficient with electronic care planning and technology
- Experience handling safeguarding investigations and HR processes
About the role
- Typically based 3-4 days in a care home and 1-2 days remote, with occasional office days

Detailed responsibilities
Compliance
- Assist home managers with action plans from inspections and audits
- Monitor and review progress monthly
- Support safeguarding investigations and attend related meetings
- Assist with whistleblowing investigations
Occupancy and cost oversight
- Support maintaining high occupancy and private fee levels
- Help manage payroll and other costs within budgets
Quality assurance
- Help ensure completion of Quality Assurance Framework tasks
- Regularly review QA processes for compliance and quality
Audits
- Conduct targeted audits and assist with action plans on issues like care plans, medication, infection control, etc.
Other duties
- Represent the company at various meetings
- Support clinical issues within homes
- Cover for absent home managers as needed
- Support new home manager inductions
- Attend CQC inspections and prepare reports
- Participate in weekly support calls
