Job summary

Laing O'Rourke, in partnership with Select Security, seeks an Area Security Supervisor to oversee security operations across the North and Midlands construction and infrastructure projects. You will lead teams, ensure safe delivery, and maintain client relationships, ensuring high standards of service.

The role requires a valid SIA licence, a clean UK driving licence, and prior supervisory security experience. Immediate start with full uniform, training, and career development opportunities.

Qualifications

• SIA licence (Security Guarding, Door Supervisor, or Close Protection) is essential.
• Full UK driving licence with no more than six penalty points.
• Prior supervisory/management experience in security is required.
• Strong leadership and people management skills.
• Proficient in MS Office and reporting systems.
• Excellent organisation and time-management abilities.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and make decisions under pressure.

Responsibilities

• Lead Security Officers across multiple sites within the region.
• Conduct site visits and performance checks for compliance.
• Coordinate staffing and deployment to ensure coverage.
• Support recruitment, induction, and development of security personnel.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and professional conduct.
• Build relationships with project teams, clients, and stakeholders.
• Manage incident reporting and site documentation.
• Investigate security incidents and escalate as needed.
• Ensure operations comply with company procedures and health & safety.
