Job summary

B&M Retail is seeking an experienced Regional People Business Partner to lead the people agenda across 100+ stores in the Midlands and surrounding areas. You will partner with senior leaders, coach store managers, and build leadership capability to drive performance and engagement regionally.

The role focuses on talent management, succession planning, and embedding people priorities into commercial outcomes.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a People or HR Business Partner role within a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
• Proven experience in talent management, succession planning, leadership development and organisational capability.
• Strong commercial acumen, aligning people priorities to operational and financial objectives.
• Track record of influencing senior stakeholders to drive positive outcomes.
• Strong analytical skills with ability to use people data to inform decisions.
• Proactive, resilient, hands-on; comfortable spending time in stores and building relationships.

Responsibilities

• Lead and deliver the regional people strategy aligned with commercial objectives.
• Partner with senior operational leaders to drive performance and build high-performing teams.
• Spend time across the region coaching and influencing Area Managers and Store Managers to deliver people outcomes.
• Drive succession planning and leadership development with robust talent pipelines for key roles.
• Identify high-potential talent and support development of future leaders through coaching and career conversations.
• Utilise people data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities influencing business decisions.
• Lead colleague engagement initiatives and foster a culture of accountability and continuous improvement.
• Support workforce planning, organisational change and business transformation across the region.
• Champion wellbeing and an inclusive culture where colleagues thrive.
• Balance strategic thinking with practical delivery and operational execution.
