Job summary

B&M Retail is seeking a Regional People Business Partner to drive the people agenda across 100+ stores in East London and surrounding areas. You will partner with Area and Store Managers, coaching leaders, and shaping talent pipelines to raise engagement and performance.

The role blends strategic thinking with hands-on delivery, visiting stores to influence outcomes, develop leadership capability, and embed people priorities regionally.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a People/HR Business Partner role within a fast-paced, multi-site environment.
• Passion for developing leaders, coaching managers and building high-performing teams.
• Proven experience in talent management, succession planning, leadership development and organisational capability.
• Strong commercial acumen, with the ability to align people priorities to operational and financial objectives.
• Track record of influencing and constructively challenging senior stakeholders to drive positive outcomes.
• Strong analytical skills, with the ability to use people data and insight to inform decision-making.
• Proactive, resilient and hands-on, comfortable spending time in stores and building strong relationships across all levels of the business.
• Balance strategic thinking with practical delivery and operational execution.

• Utilise people data and insights to identify trends, risks and opportunities, influencing business decisions and people outcomes.
• Lead colleague engagement initiatives and drive a culture of accountability, development and continuous improvement.
• Support workforce planning, organisational change and business transformation initiatives across the region.
• Champion colleague wellbeing, organisational effectiveness and an inclusive culture where colleagues can thrive.

Job description

This is a highly visible, field-based role supporting a region of 100+ stores, with East London or the surrounding areas being the ideal location. Partnering closely with the Regional Operations Manager, Area Managers and Store Managers, you'll lead the regional people agenda, develop leadership capability, build future talent pipelines, and drive performance through people. This role is about more than providing HR support. You'll be a trusted partner to operational leaders, spending time in stores, coaching managers, identifying and developing future leaders, and ensuring people priorities are embedded across the region. Combining strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, you'll make a direct impact on colleague engagement, leadership effectiveness and business performance. In this role you will be responsible for:
