Job summary

Fusion People are recruiting a Commercial Manager - MEP in Manchester/Bolton to lead commercial performance, guide regional growth and oversee high-value project portfolios. You will shape strategy, manage revenue and margins, and drive commercial governance with senior leadership.

We seek a degree-holding professional with extensive M&E/MEP leadership experience, strong contract knowledge (JCT/NEC) and a proven track record in profitability, forecasting, and stakeholder management.

Qualifications

• Significant experience in a senior commercial leadership role within an M&E/MEP contracting environment.
• Proven track record managing commercial performance across large portfolios.
• Strong understanding of JCT and NEC contract forms.
• Experience managing profitability, cash flow, forecasting and reporting.
• Strong commercial acumen with negotiation and stakeholder skills.
• Ability to lead and develop commercial teams.

Responsibilities

• Lead the commercial function across multiple M&E projects and programmes.
• Develop and implement regional commercial strategies aligned with business objectives.
• Manage revenue, margin, cash flow and overall cost control performance.
• Review/oversee budgets, CVRs and final accounts.
• Manage variations, claims and contractual entitlements.
• Support major tenders and pre-construction activities.
• Review contracts and assess commercial risk profiles.
• Lead negotiations and support dispute avoidance/resolution.
• Build and mentor a high-performing commercial team.
• Collaborate with operations, clients and supply chain for successful outcomes.
• Ensure governance, reporting and compliance across projects.
• Drive continuous improvement in processes and performance.
