Leaders in Care is recruiting a clinical Regional Director to lead a portfolio of 7 care homes in the West Midlands. You will coach and develop Home Managers, uphold CQC standards, governance and quality improvements while driving commercial performance.

The role requires a nursing qualification with current NMC registration and at least two years of multi-site operational leadership experience.

Qualifications

Regional Director

£90,000 + Bonus + Car Allowance

Leaders in Care is exclusively recruiting for a clinical Regional Director or Area Director with a nursing background, current NMC registration and at least two years' operational leadership experience overseeing multiple care homes.

You must have proven experience coaching, supporting and leading Home Managers to run successful, compliant homes, delivering strong clinical standards, effective governance and sustainable operational performance.

Joining a growing care home provider, you will oversee a portfolio of 7 homes, strengthening leadership, improving quality and building stable, accountable management teams.

The Role

As Regional Director, you will take operational responsibility for the portfolio, working closely with Registered Managers to improve quality, governance, leadership and commercial performance.

This is not a role where you will simply step into homes and operate as a de facto Registered Manager. Your focus will be on developing capable, accountable Home Managers who feel supported, supervised and constructively challenged to deliver excellent outcomes.

During your first six months, priorities will include:

• Building stability and consistency across the Registered Manager team
• Providing hands-on leadership, coaching and support to Home Managers
• Improving governance and ensuring agreed actions are followed through
• Driving quality improvement and maintaining strong CQC standards
• Supporting homes through CQC and Local Authority inspections
• Reviewing operational performance, KPIs, occupancy and financial results
• Addressing underperformance constructively through clear improvement plans
• Supporting refreshed policies, processes and governance frameworks
• Ensuring consistently high clinical standards across the portfolio
• Creating strong operational foundations as the organisation grows

Who We’re Looking For

We are specifically looking for clinical Regional Directors or Area Directors within the care home sector.

Essential requirements:

• A nursing qualification and current NMC registration
• At least two years' experience at an operational, regional or area leadership level, overseeing multiple care homes
• A proven track record of coaching, developing and leading Home Managers to run successful and compliant services
• Strong knowledge of CQC regulations, clinical governance and quality assurance
• Experience supporting homes through inspections and delivering sustained quality improvements
• A strong understanding of occupancy, financial performance and care home operational KPIs
• The confidence to challenge underperformance while maintaining a supportive leadership style

Experience within older people's nursing care, complex care or neurological services would be particularly relevant.

A nursing background, current NMC registration and the required multi-site operational experience are essential—not simply desirable.

The Package

• £90,000 salary

Location & Travel

We are particularly looking for someone based in the West Midlands who is comfortable travelling regularly between services.

The role will typically involve 3-4 days per week across the homes, with protected time to work from home.
